Cold Heading

The cold heading (or cold forming) process shapes metal by hammering it through a die at high speed. This is done without the use of head and requires special fluids and lubrications to protect tooling and equipment. The material is not heated or machined, but formed into its desired shape at room temperature.

Benz is an extremely knowledgeable metalforming fluids manufacturer that appreciates the challenges that arise in different metalforming processes. By offering custom metalforming coolants and metal cutting oils, they have helped customers reduce down time, maintain high production rates and safeguard the products they produce as well as the machines that form them.
